Sushi - California Rolls

๐Ÿ’› INGREDIENTS ๐Ÿ’›

  • 3 nori sheets

  • Avocado, long slices

  • Cucumber, long slices

  • Carrot, long slices

  • 4-5 tablespoons eggless mayonnaise

  • Soy sauce/tamari sauce for dipping

  • Wasabi for dipping, store-bought

  • Pickled ginger for serving, store-bought

  • Sesame seeds


To make sushi rice:

Cook sushi rice as per the package instructions:

  • 1 cup sushi rice (brown or white), cooked

  • 3 tablespoons rice vinegar

  • 1 teaspoon salt


๐Ÿ’š INSTRUCTIONS ๐Ÿ’š

  • Mix rice vinegar + salt into hot cooked rice, and leave it to cool.

  • Lay cling film on top of a sushi mat, followed by a nori sheet and sushi rice.

  • Spread out the rice and sprinkle with white sesame seeds.

  • Flip the roll over so the nori sheet is on top.

  • Now place the avocado, cucumber, and carrot in the middle and top with little mayonnaise.

  • Roll it tightly with the cling film, from the back to front.

  • Cut into 2-3 cm pieces with a wet knife.

  • Repeat the same with the rest.

  • Serve it with soy sauce, pickled ginger, and wasabi. (you can also mix wasabi and mayonnaise to make a spicy tangy sauce)
