Ingredients:-
3 cups split green moon dal
1 cup rice
1.5 tablespoons salt (or to taste)
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
2 tablespoons ghee
1 cup water (or as needed)
Instructions:-
In a thick bottom pot/sufuria, mix moong dal and rice, and wash at least thrice.
Now add in water, salt, turmeric powder and 1 tablespoon ghee, mix well.
Cover the pot and cook over a very low flame or on a hot plate with the lowest temperature.
Cook for around 2 hours or as needed.
You can also pressure cook it with 3-4 whistles.
Once khichdi is cooked add 1 tablespoon of ghee and mix well.
Leave for 2 more minutes and serve.
Serve with kadhi, milk, yogurt, pickle, or papad.
