💛 Ingredients 💛
For Chop Suey:
1 cup cabbage, shredded
1/2 cup red cabbage, shredded
1 green capsicum, julienned
1 red capsicum, julienned
1 yellow capsicum, julienned
1 carrot, peeled & julienned
1/2 cup button mushroom, sliced (optional)
2 tablespoons sesame oil
Pinch of aji no moto (optional)
1 teaspoon ginger paste
1 teaspoon green chili paste
1 teaspoon tomato paste
Salt & pepper to taste
1 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
1 tablespoon ketchup
1 tablespoon chili sauce
2 tablespoons cornflour
Water as required
For Fried Noodles:
100 grams Hakka noodles
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon cornflour
Water to boil noodles
Oil for frying noodles
💚 Instructions 💚
For Chop Suey:
In a pan, heat oil.
Add in, all the veggies, green chili paste, ginger paste, tomato paste, aji-no-moto, soy sauce, chili sauce, ketchup, sugar, salt, and pepper powder
Mix well and cook for 2-3 mins.
In a bowl, mix cornflour and 4 tablespoons of water, making sure there are no lumps.
Now add this to the veggies and cook for 5 minutes.
For Fried Noodles:
In a saucepan, bring water to a boil by adding salt and oil.
Add the noodles to it. Boil them until they are softened just a bit.
Now drain the water and wash the noodles in cold running water.
Mix cornflour to the noodles thoroughly and keep them aside.
Heat oil for deep frying on medium-high heat.
Once the oil is heated, add the noodles in small batches and deep fry them on each side until they turn golden brown and crisp.
Assembling:
Place the crispy fried noodles on a serving plate.
Spoon a generous amount of the chop suey over the crispy noodles.
Serve the American ChopSuey immediately.
